Sanctuary Greeters Job Description
Leader: Tywllah Schauer

FELLOWSHIP – Sanctuary Greeters
JOB DESCRIPTION
Our main purpose is to warmly welcome each person who enters our church. Try to call them by name, make our visitors feel at home and want to return. If you are not sure if they are visitors, ask them. If they are first time visitors, ask if they have signed the Guest Book. While it is the “Love in Action” greeters’ responsibility to have first time visitors sign the Guest Book, it’s a good idea to double check if you’re not sure they signed. The Pastor needs these names for introducing visitors to the congregation.

RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Please be at church by 9:30 a.m. Worship folders are to be given to people entering the sanctuary. Worship folders are in the pockets on the Guest Register podium. Any undistributed folders are to be returned to the pockets in the podium.

2. You are to close the Sanctuary doors AFTER the Pastor had completed his announcements.

3. Please sit in the Front of the Sanctuary. Assign someone to watch for latecomers and be sure they receive the Worship folder.

4. Collecting the Offering – The collection of the Offering follows The Lord’s Prayer. Upon conclusion of the Prayer, stand up and be prepared to go up to the altar immediately, with the two “Love in Action” greeters following you. When finished taking up the Offering, stand at the rear of the Sanctuary with the Offering plates. When the organist begins to play the Offering Response, proceed up to the altar and remain there during the Pastor’s Prayer.

5. Post worship policing of sanctuary (with assistance from Greeters):
1. Trash to include disposal of bulletins
2. Reposition hymnal and Bibles
3. Check thermostats and adjust
