FINANCE CHAIRPERSON
JOB DESCRIPTION

1. Be aware of the financial health of the church at all times.

2. Keep the Board of Session informed of the financial health of the church.

3. Insure that the Board of Session is fully aware of the financial requirements including:
a. Preparation of the annual budget for approval of the Board of Session, and its presentation at the Fall annual meeting of the church each year.
b. Presentation of the monthly reports of receipts and expenditures at monthly Board of Session meetings, and placing one copy in the church file and one copy on the bulletin board.
c. Arrange for Board of Session approval of unusual expenditures, changes in investments, and unusual donations.
d. Insure annual election by the Board of Session of the church Treasurer, Assistant Treasurer, Financial Secretary and Assistant Financial Secretary.
e. Act as liaison and oversee the function of the church Treasurer and Financial Secretary.
f. Arrange and submit for Board of Session approval an annual audit of the church financial records.
g. Be prepared to fill in for the Treasurer and the Financial Secretary if required.
h. Coordinate the preparation and submission of the annual Presbytery statistical report.

4. Prepare a letter annually to be given to church members and friends, along with a copy of the budget and a Pledge card, at least three weeks prior to Stewardship Sunday.

5. Serve as chairperson of the Finance Committee and arrange for the annual selection of new committee members in accordance with the church Finance Program.

6. Attend all Stated and Called Meetings of the Board of Session.
